We grant you a quiet and safe work in small groups (max. 4-5 participants) in our suitable studio atmosphere with spacious, bright workplaces. In the confrontation with colors, materials and forms we awaken and expand your artistic potential.

In this course, I will gradually introduce you to a detached and free way of working – away from previous constraints, guidelines and restrictions. Various new techniques will be complemented by your personal impulsiveness.
You will practise the impulsive gesture that gives a picture its expressiveness and reveals the freedom of the painter. With collages, the diverse beauty of colours and skilful material effects, you will learn to create impressive new works.
By intensively discarding and repainting ‘half-finished compositions’, we experience the creative journey of discovery with the surprising pleasure of the unexpected, a new personal result.

Winter thoughts freely realised

Together we will revitalise the cold winter landscape step by step with authentic works. We work with unusual materials on canvas, collage, overpaint and reduce. By condensing numerous contrasting layers and working patiently, a multi-dimensional picture with depth is created.
With my support, your own instinct and plenty of courage to experiment, we will develop a personal visual language in the personal realisation of free winter thoughts.

Even in small formats—whether on canvas, cardboard, or paper—there is ample potential to create fascinating visual spaces through the interplay of pictorial planes, surfaces, shapes, and densification, to paint over them, reduce them, and add deliberate accents.
This workshop focuses on a variety of applications and possible combinations involving a wide range of collage materials, supplemented by drawings and typographic elements, which we’ll use to create fascinating compositions and series in small formats.
Through experimental work and the playful exploration of easy-to-use techniques and materials, new forms of artistic expression emerge. And during the final revisions, courage is required when working with pencils, chalk, and ink.

Color, shape, surface, and material—their exciting interplay creates an image that moves and makes an impact. In this painting workshop, we’ll explore the diverse possibilities of visual composition. What does an image need to create tension? Where should calm emerge—and where should a powerful accent be placed? How do different elements come together to form a harmonious whole?

Layering Technique at Its Best

Discover the fascinating world of mixed media and experience how a vibrant, multi-layered, and harmonious work of art emerges from a wide variety of materials, colors, and textures. This workshop is all about the ideal interplay of different layers: transparent and opaque acrylic paints, collage elements, textures, and intriguing surfaces are built up, sometimes reworked, revealed, and combined. You’ll learn how to use layers intentionally to create depth, tension, and surprising visual effects. Which layer should remain visible? What should be hidden? Where is calmness needed—and where is a strong contrast required? It is precisely this interplay that makes mixed media so appealing.
We’ll experiment with acrylic paints, collages, and various textural materials, combining them to create a unique visual language. This isn’t about following a rigid process, but rather about discovering, responding to, and developing the image—layer by layer.

Using Stencils Effectively

Text, numbers, and symbols can add a whole new level of expression to an acrylic painting. Using stencils and spray paint creates striking shapes, delicate lines, and surprising overlays. But where should you use them so that they enhance the painting—rather than simply looking out of place?
In this painting workshop, we’ll explore the deliberate and artistically meaningful use of stencils. We’ll experiment with different lettering, number, and symbol stencils and combine spray-painted elements with acrylic paint, transparent and opaque layers, and existing textures. The goal isn’t simply to include as many symbols as possible in the painting. Rather, we’ll explore how text and symbols can create rhythm, tension, depth, and meaning. Individual elements may stand out clearly, while others disappear beneath layers of paint or remain visible only as fragmentary traces. You’ll discover the possibilities of spray painting and stenciling and learn how typography and graphic forms can be combined with free, painterly surfaces and enter into a dialogue with one another.
This course offers plenty of opportunities to experiment and develop your own visual language. No prior experience with stencils is required.

When is a painting finished? This big question keeps coming up for all painters. But personal doubts and uncertainties, in particular, can often be resolved more comfortably when viewed and discussed in a group setting.
How can different shapes or areas of color be combined to form a large, successful composition? Which parts of the painting gain new expressive power through deliberate reduction or even omission? Which color combinations or “eye-catchers” add extra tension to the painting—or even provide the crucial depth and focal point?
Together, we’ll explore various options and techniques for completing the artworks you’ve prepared and brought with you.

Learning to Communicate Through Colors

Colors speak. Some speak loudly and confidently; others quietly and almost reservedly. Some boldly spread across the canvas, while others elegantly recede. Some seek closeness to other colors—and some need space to themselves.
In this painting workshop, we’ll explore acrylic paints in a different way. Not just as a means of depicting something, but as a living counterpart with its own unique qualities. We’ll observe how differently colors react: how transparent or opaque they are, how they blend and change, how they harmonize with one another, enhance each other, or create exciting contrasts. In the process, we’ll discover that every color has its own character. We’ll embrace this little life of its own, experimenting, observing, and responding.
