The sensual perception of one’s own creative abilities is also the fuel of the painting process for the figurative pictures. It is a mental intensity that is concentrated in the creative act. The natural need to create a picture, to try things out creatively and to understand the results is then given additional, positive reinforcement with the inclusion of a wide variety of materials. By working in a variety of layers, I create the forms I am looking for, which I then intensify and implement in a targeted manner using chalk, ink or paint strokes. And it is essential to combine this with aesthetic experience. However, a great deal of time, freedom and patience is required for the realization.

Freedom guarantees the timeless vitality of the works
As I make freedom the principle of my work, I am naturally far removed from patronizing the viewer of my works as to how they should see my pictures. I understand my work timelessly as absolute painting in the sense of unrestricted pictorial art. Ideologies of perception or interpretation are banished; I rely on the experimental, on the vitality of composition and color, on the power of the sensual and physical.
